Overview

Vision

To develop impactful leaders with an entrepreneurial mindset who are human-oriented and environmentally sensitive for technology-rich workplace.
 
The Management group at BITS Pilani was established in the year 1968. It initially offered the two year Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programme. But later in 1973, when the institute created an integrated educational structure, MBA evolved into the integrated first degree programme MMS- Master of Management Studies which was a blend of engineering and management.

This programme was successfully offered for a period of three decades. Based on the  demands from the indusrty and continuous evolution of Management as a discipline, the course was restructured as MBA in the year 2006.

It is a two-year Post-Graduate Programme designed as a full time residential course for graduates who wish to pursue their careers in management.The objective of this programme is to cater to requirement of the industry by providing quality management professionals with strong technical skills and an acumen for managing business.The Management programme in BITS was ranked by Asia Week as the Top 30 Best Full-Time MBA. The programme has also been verified as one of the top ranked by various rating agencies(# 16 Best B-Schools by Outlook-Survey, 2016).

Courses

The Department of Management, BITS Pilani brings a cutting-edge thinking and best learning practices with its flagship MBA Programme,which is a two year Post Graduate programme designed as a full time residential course.
 
Three semesters of rigorous classroom training coupled with 6 months of industry exposure through a structured and evaluative internship (Practice School) make this programme one of its kind.

Admission

Any Integrated first degree of BITS or B.E./B.Tech in Engineering disciplines or Masters in any discipline from other recognized universities with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.

  • ICEBM 2019

    Once again the Department of Management, BITS Pilani is going to organize International Conference on Evidence Based Management in 2019 (ICEBM-2019). The aim of this conference is to provide a platform to the researchers, scholars, academicians and practitioners from different parts of the globe to interact with each other and present on various issues related to evidence-based management.

  • Session on "Campus to Career - A giant leap" by first MMS batch of 1971.

    We were privileged to hear it from our own alumni from the first MMS batch of 1971 last night on 5th November.

    The session was arranged by Alumni Relations Cell , DoM, BITS Pilani and PLACEMENT CELL MBA, BITS Pilani. The agenda of the session was "Campus to Career - A giant leap". The leaders in their own industry and the panel members were Rajeev Loiwal, Jakes Jayakaran, DR.K.D Nayar, Rajive Bajpai, Manoj K Agrawal, Rohit Jain.
    We from BITS MBA 2016-18 express gratitude to all the 6 BITSians and welcome them to keep guiding their fellow juniors and upcoming BITSians.

  • Interface’18 – “INTO THE FUTURE”

    The annual management convention of BITS Pilani, is the 41st edition of the panIndia management fest, which will be organized from 23rd-25th March 2018. Interface has always been a platform for industry leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, inspiring talents and motivated students, to come together to discuss, debate and participate in competitions push them to re-think the existing norms of the business and society. The convention brings together top managerial intelligentsia of the country and attracts participation from prominent industry leaders and students from top B-schools, with a footfall of over 400 participants.

     

     

     

  • RE-BRANDING

    Vishwast organized "Re-branding" today, an event to challenge the batch to come up with Marketing strategy for products which have been heavily criticized in the past for their dishonest marketing!

  • Advanced Excel Workshop

    MS-Excel is often referred to as the "bloodline" of an MBA graduate. Placement Committee of BITS MBA 2016-18 took initiative in organizing a full fledged Advanced Excel Workshop which was conducted by IB Institute, Delhi. Students got great insights moving from basic excel to advanced excel and also had first hand experience on VBA and MS Access.  

  • ICEBM 2017

    Dept of Management BITS Pilani successfully conducted the second edition of ICEBM on 17th and 18th of March. The theme of ICEBM 2017 was evidence based management and these two days of untrodden knowledge exposure and learning have intrigued both the student and the faculty fraternity. Here, we witnessed excellent knowledge dissemination of new ideas and innovations in diverse fields. The conference was inaugurated by Prof. Shailendra Palviya who hailed from MDI Gurgaon. The occasion was graced by Prof A.K Sarkar, Director, BITS Pilani and our respected professor Dr. Leela Rani, HOD, BITS Pilani MBA Dept.

  • ARENA Workshop

    The Department of Management organized the workshop on Business model Simulation on the 2nd of this month. The workshop headed by Dr.Dilbag Singh Broca ,an esteemed faculty of XLRI Jamshedpur enlightened our students with the various business model simulations using the Arena simulation software. We thank our department and the placement committee for organizing such a knowledgeable workshop.

  • Ice Breaking Session organized for Junior Batch 2017-19

    An ice breaking session was organised for Junior Batch 2017-19 by the Senior Batch 2016-18 of Department of Management. Students had great fun while performing activities at the same time interacting with seniors and knowing more about their batch mates.

  • Debate Competition for MBA 2017-19 Batch

    The Finomaniac (Fianance Club) and Manav (HR Club) of Department of Management organized an interactive and educative debate competition powered by Fore Vision for the batch of 2017-19 and had healthy discussion on interesting topics pertaining to academics and current affairs.

  • KPMG Lean Six Sigma Certification

    The Department of Management, BITS  Pilani recently conducted Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification program.
    The certification program is driven through Business Excellence practice and is well recognized throughout industry and academics. The training was conducted by KPMG which is the leading provider of Risk, Financial, Business advisory, Audit, Corporate Governance, Tax and Regulatory Services. Mr. Ankur Kumar GargManagement Consulting, KPMG India, Business Excellence, who is a certified Master Black Belt in Six Sigma methodologies visited the BITS Pilani campus to conduct the training. The program was attended by participants from both MBA batches 2016-18 and 2017-19. 
     

  • Guest Talk by Dr. Rajeshwari Narendran

    Department of Management, BITS Pilani was privileged to host Dr Rajeshwari Narendran, Director, Academy of Human Resources Development, India
     
    Dr Narendran is a PhD in Management and MBA, Andrew Towl Scholar - Harvard Business School. She has the distinction of being the first ever and youngest National President of Indian Society for Training and Development, New Delhi (2013-14) She is Professor HR/OB, M L Sukhadia University, Udaipur and Visiting Professor to Harvard
    Business School, IIM Udaipur, IIM Ahmedabad and many Universities across the globe.
     
     

  • Session on "How to face Interviews" and Mock interviews

    Department of Management, BITS Pilani expresses gratitude to Mr. Subhashish Roy who is consultant, trainer & coach, an esteemed alumnus of the 1979-1983 MMS batch, BITS Pilani for conducting session on "How to Face the Interviews" for students who aspire to pursue career in Marketing and HR domain followed by mock interviews.  The event was held at BITS, Pilani on 4th and 5th of September and was organized by Placement Cell, MBA 2016-18 & Alumni Relations Club, DoM, BITs Pilani. We express gratitude to Mr. Subhashish Roy for sharing his words of wisdom and preparing students for final placements.

  • Workshop on Financial Modelling

    Finomaniac - The Finance Club of Department of Management, BITS Pilani under the guidance of the Department of Management, organized a workshop on Advanced Excel, Financial Modelling and ValuationMr. Manoj Kumar and Mr. Ankur Gaur, from Investment Banking Institute Delhi, came down to Bits Pilani for conducting this three day workshop. It was an enriching experience as it increased the knowledge base of the students. This workshop also provided insights into the industry and equipped us with the skill sets that are demanded by the industries and is the need of hour.
