The startup "UrbanStack" secured 1st Runner-up position in the Finale of Hackathon on Road Safety organised by Hero Motocorp and Indian Road Safety Campaign held at IIT Delhi on 15th February 2020.
Shivam Soni and Nishtha Pareekfrom Birla Institute of Technology & Science Pilanihave Secured 1st Runner-up the Final Phase Competition ofBe a Road Hero Hackathon on Road Safetyorganized byIndian Road Safety Campaign,Electrical Engineering Society IIT Delhi, Hero MotoCorp and Hindustan Times on 15th February 2020. The competition witnessed participation of more than 600 students from 76 colleges across the country including premier IITs and NITs.
The event was graced by Dr. S Rajesh, Director, Niti Aayog; Mr. S.K Mishra , Road Safety Enforcement, Ministry Of Road Transport And Highways, Government Of India; Shri L Kuttiraja, Deputy Director, MoRTH, Government Of India; Ms. Shipra Gupta, Youth Development Professional, United Nations Volunteer (UNV) as Esteemed Jury and encouraged the young innovators through their presence and sharing the steps that can be taken to supplement the goal of eradicating thousands of lives lost annually due to road accidents.
Hackathon aims at developing implementable solutions in the form of a digital solution to promote road safety and reduce the frequency and impact of road crashes. For this, utilizing the intellect and ideation capabilities of the students of technical colleges of India. The long-term goal for the Hackathon is to launch implementable products/solutions into the market stream that solve some prevalent problems and to create some viable social impact using their technical skills.
