Language Lab is a state-of-the-art computer-mediated laboratory that provides synchronous as well as asynchronous practice for students interested in improving their language communication. Through our customized courses, we provide the learners with intensive hands-on practice for university-level writing such as expository essays and analytical reports. Our advanced multimodal tools provide the students with intensive listening practice through a variety of level-specific practice tests. We also use well-researched instructional strategies and computer tools that enable active participation in a wide range of real-life communicative activities such as group discussions, role plays, and seminars. Centrally managed by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), this lab relies on sophisticated software such as Orell Digital Language Lab (ODLL) to provide focused instruction. It also has a workstation for 2D classical animation, which has a punch machine, lightbox, and stand-mount camera. The design of the lab is such that it allows the conduction of both structured courses and intensive training programs for BARC, BALCO, and Hindustan Zinc Ltd. Besides, the five UPS installed enable continuous, uninterrupted, and smooth operation of the lab. In addition, our repository of several interactive VCDs / DVDs offers an uninterrupted, engaging, and stress-free learning experience to our learners. The lab houses state of the art projection facility and sound system to facilitate online and offline colloquium/seminar events.
