With the advent of Women’s History Month, WIE had an interactive talk with Ramasa Vempati, a senior cybersecurity engineer at Planet Payments on Cybersecurity and Women in Technology, on March 6, 2024. Ramasa is also a BPDC alumni of batch 2015–2019. Ramasa delivered an insightful session focusing on three key aspects of information protection. She emphasized the vital role of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions in proactively monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents. Additionally, Ramasa explored the diverse domains of cybersecurity, highlighting essential skill sets and knowledge areas for professionals in the field. She also discussed the significance of certifications such as CISSP, CEH, and CompTIA Security+ for career advancement. Attendees left the session with practical insights and motivation to navigate the dynamic cybersecurity landscape with confidence.
