BITS Pilani introduced the Research Awards in 2024 to recognize outstanding faculty contributions and strengthen research excellence across campuses. The awards, announced on November 7, 2024, invited self-nominations across multiple categories, with winners honored at the first-ever Research Awards Ceremony on February 28, 2025, during National Science Day celebrations at the Hyderabad Campus.

The event featured Padma Shri Dr. M. Y. S. Prasad as Chief Guest, who delivered a keynote on “Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat.”
