On the occasion of 15 August 2022, 76th Independence Day was celebrated at BITS Pilani, Pilani campus. The Programme began by recalling the achievements of India post-Independence to mark “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”; 75 years of our independence. Prof. Souvik Bhattacharyya, Vice Chancellor, BITS Pilani, Prof. Sudhir Kumar Barai, Director BITS Pilani, Pilani campus, Col. Soumyabrata Chakravorty, Registrar, BITS Pilani and Prof. Sanjay Kumar Verma, Dean Administration hoisted the National Flag, a moment of pride for all attendees. Prof. Arya Kumar, Prof. Ajit Pratap Singh and many dignitaries graced the occasion. Chief Security Officer Mr. Kishore Singh and his team also saluted the tricolor. The fervor of patriotism, unified diversity and rich cultural heritage of India, was beautifully brought forth through the songs sung by the students under the guidance of Dr. Anil Rai. This was followed by administration of The National Pledge by Ms. Palak Sangal, an oath to shoulder responsibilities with rights. The programme ended with the National anthem sung with enthusiasm by all. The event was followed by tree plantation programme by the dignitaries to mark the 75th anniversary of independent India.
