Dr. Teny did her Ph.D from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kochi (2005) on semiconducting thin films for photovoltaic applications. She was working on entirely spray pyrolysed CuInS2/In2S3 solar cells and achieved an efficiency of 9.5% which was the maximum reported for such solar cells thus far. She moved to Goa University (2006) as research associate after one year postdoctoral work in CUSAT. She was working on diluted magnetic semiconductors there. She joined the Department of Physics, BITS-Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus in April 2009. Her research interests include Dilute Magnetic Semiconductors (DMS), semiconducting thin films for photovoltaic applications, metal oxide nanoparticles and their optoelectronic applications, device physics of semiconducting materials in the nano regime and novel nanomaterials.
