The optics lab is equipped with the modern experimental setups to study Zeeman effect, electro-optic in LiNiO3 and liquid crystals, ultrasonic diffraction, Brewster angle, and Brownian motion of colloidal particles. We have developed an electro-optic experimental setup for studying the switching behavior of liquid crystals system. We have fabricated a high precision computer controlled heater for regulating the phases of thermotropic liquid crystals. We can probe the dynamics of particles in the two dimensional plane of the order greater than 30 millisecond. The dynamics can be precisely probed at different temperatures.
