Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the state-of-the-art campus of BITS Pilani in the Mumbai metropolitan region on February 26, near Kalyan.
This is the institution's fifth site, boasting top-notch management, law, and design schools. Spread across 63 acres and costing Rs. 1,500 crore, it will house 5000 students. Chancellor Kumar Mangalam Birla praised the inauguration as a testament to BITS Pilani's commitment to innovation and excellence in education, aligning with India's vision for intellectual advancement.

Robots to the Rescue! Students Battle Environmental Challenges at Emirates Competition
Hear, hear all eco-warriors and robotics enthusiasts! The Emirates Robotics Competition put students to the test, challenging them to develop innovative robots tackling real-world environmental issues. Held at Khalifa University, teams from across the UAE competed in three categories: recycling, rubbish collection, and water cleaning. BITS Pilani, Dubai showcased their skills in the water cleaning challenge, building an intelligent surface cleaning robot!

Third Time's a Charm! BITS Pilani Professor Wins Coveted National Fellowship Renewal
Professor Samit Chattopadhyay of BITS-Pilani, Goa, holding Sri B K Birla and Shrimati Sarala Birla Chair Professor in the Department of Biological Science just received his third term of the prestigious J.C. Bose National Fellowship, awarded to India's most outstanding scientists across diverse fields.
This exclusive fellowship, spanning five years and worth a whopping 95 lakhs, empowers Professor Chattopadhyay to continue his ground breaking research in the exciting realm of altered gene functions and its impact on human health. His dedication is evident in his impressive publication record, boasting 120 papers in some of the top notch international journals, including a highly regarded Chemical Society Reviews, 2023 (Impact Factor 60.6). Recently, he also edited a book Nucleic Acid Biology and its Application in Human Diseases, Nature Springer Publications with more than 5000 copies subscribed worldwide so far.

BITS Mission to Mars: Team Kratos Rockets to Top 3 at International Rover Challenge!
Our very own BITS Goa Mars Rover Team, Project Kratos, returned from the International Rover Challenge (IRC) 2024 with impressive results - 3rd place in both Autonomous Mission and Instrument Deployment & Maintenance; 6th place overall among 22 national and international teams!
Despite facing challenges, Kratos persevered, showcasing their innovative design, problem-solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail. The judges commended their resilience and collaborative spirit.
This experience was more than just a competition. Kratos learned from diverse teams, honed their communication and teamwork, and expanded their capabilities under pressure. They are eager to share their knowledge and continue their journey of pushing boundaries within the college community and beyond.

MOU WITH IOWA STATE
Together, BITS Pilani and Iowa State University have initiated a groundbreaking Two-Plus-Two undergraduate Shared Degree Program and shared graduate engineering degree programs, marking the beginning of an incredible academic journey.
This relationship promises a thousand educational opportunities starting on January 30, 2024. Qualified students from BITS Pilani will be transferred to Iowa State for cooperative Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. programs, solidifying their global perspective.
Both the institutions aim to cultivate world-class leaders who will shape the future of engineering and promote intellectual rigour and creativity.
