BITS Pilani Inaugurates New Bengaluru Centre, Strengthening Innovation and Industry Collaboration

In a significant move to foster entrepreneurship, research, and industry collaboration, BITS Pilani has announced the launch of its new Bengaluru Centre at HSR Layout, sponsored by Hustlehub, one of the city’s leading coworking and enterprise space providers. This new center aims to expand opportunities for students, researchers, faculty, and incubators, further enhancing BITS Pilani’s reputation as a global hub for innovation and research.

The center will also serve as a vibrant platform for the institution’s extensive alumni network, which boasts over 800 creators in Bengaluru alone—the largest concentration of BITS Pilani alumni in any single city worldwide. This alumni network is expected to play a pivotal role in mentoring and supporting budding entrepreneurs and start-ups.

Led by Prof. Mridula Goel, from the K. K. Birla Goa Campus, and supported by the Alumni Relations Division and the institute's Incubation Societies, the centre is envisioned as a key player in bridging academia and industry. It will host initiatives that include adding Practice School and Placement stations, securing industry-sponsored research projects, and aligning the institute's curriculum with industry needs to ensure that students are job-ready upon graduation.

Prof. V Ramgopal Rao, Vice-Chancellor of BITS Pilani, highlighted the importance of the centre, stating, "The Bengaluru Centre exemplifies BITS Pilani's resolve to foster innovation and industry collaboration. It will intensify our relationship with the local corporate community, creating a dynamic ecosystem that nurtures budding entrepreneurs and researchers."

Prof. Mridula Goel, known for her leadership at the BITS Goa Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship Society, expressed her gratitude to the alumni community, emphasizing their vital role in supporting the center’s activities. “The early support from alumni founders of companies like Hustlehub, Quizizz, InnAccel, and others has been instrumental in scaling our operations,” she said.

With the Bengaluru Centre’s strategic location and the strong backing of the alumni community, BITS Pilani is set to expand its reach in the start-up and research ecosystem. The center will also work on fostering collaborations with both alumni-led and non-alumni organizations, ensuring that BITS Pilani remains at the forefront of innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry-aligned education.

This new initiative is poised to enhance BITS Pilani’s legacy of creating future-ready professionals, entrepreneurs, and researchers who are equipped to address global challenges.
