In an effort to promote academic excellence and innovation, the foundation stone of the 'Rakesh Varma Convention Center' has been laid at BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus. The convention center is part of Mr. Varma's commitment to providing ₹15 crore for the development of modern infrastructure at the Pilani campus, which is the largest contribution by any former BITS alumnus to date.

This convention center will feature a conference room accommodating 200 people, facilitating national and international conferences, executive development programs, workshops, and alumni meets. Additionally, there will be comfortable residential facilities with 94 modern rooms to enhance the comfort of attendees. Located prominently within the BITS Pilani campus, this center will serve as a hub for idea exchange and collaboration.

The project is expected to be completed within the next 18 months. Upon completion, the institution will have enhanced capabilities to host international conferences, programs, and workshops. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, Vice-Chancellor of BITS Pilani, expressed gratitude towards Rakesh Varma for his visionary contribution, which demonstrates a commitment to elevate BITS Pilani to global standards.
