I have established and managed several initiatives and programs that support start-up creation and growth, such as the BITS Goa Innovation Incubation & Entrepreneurship Society (BGIIES), the BITS BIRAC BioNEST, the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme, and the Idea to Start-up course. I have supported over 100 start-ups to receive funding, mentoring, incubation, and/or networking opportunities, and have created a pool of mentors and speakers from the BITS alumni network and the Indian start-up ecosystem. I have set up tech focused incubators and attracted startups from across the country , with young innovators and reputed scientists.
Establishing: Two incubators (TIDE 2013 and BioNEST 2017-recognised as in top 10 bio incubators in India by Biospectrum) a fund of Rs 3.15 cr (SISFS 2022), the incubation Society (BGIIES 2020). Last but with the biggest reach, running the flagship New Venture Creation (NVC) course across our four campuses since 2012 with pro bono support of alumni from across the world. As speakers, evaluators and mentors. And sometimes as investors.

Jan. 2007 - June 2012, I worked as Dean of Engineering Services Division responsible for complete planning, development, maintenance and new construction at institute, and campus area. I handled the Engineering Services including Workshop unit, Transportation section, and Reprography section. Dean has number of responsibilities like leading the team of faculty members, non teaching staff and helping staff of more than 300 personnel, involved in number of regular and other committees, planning and execution of new projects, getting the grants, networking with outside agencies and government officials, etc. and My work also included development of BITS, Pilani Hyderabad Campuses (~370 crores) which required regular monitoring of the construction work and working with Architect and Contractor for development of campus. Implemented Rainwater Harvesting and Green Architecture in new buildings.
I was primarily responsible for purchase of all equipment, hardware & software, across the Institute. As Dean, EHD, I designed new procedural manual and implemented new purchase processes and systems to bring transparency and efficiency. These systems are being practiced now also. Simultaneously, My work also included development of BITS, Pilani Goa Campus (~150 crores) which required regular monitoring of the construction work and working with Architect and Contractor for development of campus. Technology Developed
iSTAR® is a novel thermophilic anaerobic digestion technology, used to treat hazardous wastes such as landfill leachate and domestic septage. It can be used to treat single or multiple substrates (co-digestion). The inbuilt 'Remote Monitoring System' keeps track of the bioreactor's health. Organic matter present in the substrate(s) is converted into methane-rich biogas. Effluent sludge is composted and used as a soil amendment. This technology has been developed as part of the SPARSH project No. BT/SPARSH0144/03/15, funded by BIRAC.
Technology Commissioned: As part of the CoRE project, a 12,000 Lt thermophilic biogas digester was commissioned in 2014 at the students' hostel dining hall to treat food waste. The biogas produced is used as a supplement for cooking gas and the spent slurry is used as a soil amendment/ biofertilizer for horticulture. Click here to watch the video of the biogas plant.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
The standard chunk of Lorem Ipsum used since the 1500s is reproduced below for those interested. Sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 from "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" by Cicero are also reproduced in their exact original form, accompanied by English versions from the 1914 translation by H. Rackham.
There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don't look even slightly believable. If you are going to use a passage of Lorem Ipsum, you need to be sure there isn't anything embarrassing hidden in the middle of text. All the Lorem Ipsum generators on the Internet tend to repeat predefined chunks as necessary, making this the first true generator on the Internet. It uses a dictionary of over 200 Latin words, combined with a handful of model sentence structures, to generate Lorem Ipsum which looks reasonable. The generated Lorem Ipsum is therefore always free from repetition, injected humour, or non-characteristic words etc.
