Dr.Vilas Ghaidane arranged "SCADA Workshop" held on October 11th, 2023, in Instrumentation Lab 303 at BITS Pilani Dubai Campus, marked another significant milestone as the second industrial workshop organized by the Association of Electronic Engineers (AoEE). Focused on SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) software, this event aimed to bridge the gap between university learning and the practical requirements of the industry.
The workshop featured Mr. Meshak Goshal, a distinguished alumnus of BPDC, who currently works at Weidmuller. Mr. Goshal shared his extensive knowledge and insights about SCADA software, emphasizing its vital role in industrial control and automation systems. His talk provided an in-depth understanding of SCADA's applications and importance in modern industries.
One of the highlights of the workshop was the hands-on experience provided to the students. Mr. Goshal brought along a hardware kit, enabling participants to gain practical experience with SCADA software. This practical exposure was invaluable as it allowed students to apply their theoretical knowledge in a real-world context, promoting experiential learning.
The "SCADA Workshop" was a joint effort between the Electrical and Chemical Departments, attracting students from both disciplines. This collaboration added a dynamic element to the event and allowed students to gain interdisciplinary insights into the applications of SCADA software.
The event achieved its primary goal of connecting students with an industry expert and equipping them with hands-on experience. It also provided a valuable networking opportunity for students to interact with a successful alumnus and explore potential career paths in the field of industrial automation and control systems.
In conclusion, the "SCADA Workshop" was a resounding success, thanks to the efforts of AoEE and the expertise of Mr. Meshak Goshal. It equipped students with practical skills and knowledge, preparing them for the demands of the professional world. The event served as a prime example of how academia and industry can collaborate to enrich the educational experience of students, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications.
