Department of Chemistry

Doctoral program (Ph.D.)

The department provides excellent research infrastructure to carry out research in Chemistry and allied areas (Research Thrust Areas). There are various fellowships available: a) Institute fellowship; b)CSIR/UGC/INSPIRE; c) Extramural research projects.

Eligibility: M.Sc./ M.Pharm. /M.Tech in Chemistry/Biotechnology/allied fields.

Program requirement: 1. Course work: 24 units or a minimum of 6 courses for students with M.Sc. and 6 units or a minimum of 2 course for students with M.Phil./M.Pharm. 2. Qualifying Exam: Every Ph.D. student must pass the qualifying examination in two areas chosen by the candidate based on his/her intended area of research and courses done. 3. Teaching Practice/Practice Lecture Series/ Research Methodology: Students are subjected to practise of teaching.
