About the Faculty

Dr. Jegatha Nambi Krishnan received her B. Tech in the major of Chemical and Electrochemical Engineering from Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI), Karaikudi. She has qualified both GRE and TOEFL from ETS, USA during her B. Tech final year. She received distinguished Korea Science and Engineering Foundation (KOSEF) award to pursue her higher education in South Korea. She pursued her Integrative Ph.D. in Micro / Nano Systems Engineering from Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Seoul, South Korea in 2011. She received KIST-IRDA Academic Excellence Award for her research accomplishments. Since 2011, she served as Scientist I in Bio Electronics Program at the Institute of Microelectronics (IME), A*STAR, Singapore. From Sep. 2013, she is a faculty member of Department of Chemical Engineering, BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus. She has published several research papers in both reputed journals and international conferences. In particular, she has patented three of her findings internationally (1 Korean and 2 US patents). While six of her findings has been patented in India. She has received OPERA (Outstanding Potential for Excellence in Academics and Research) award from BITS Pilani to continue her research career at Goa Campus. She has involved and completed both government and industrial projects with the worth of several crores successfully. She has guided and supervised nine M.E students dissertation work. Presently, one PhD student has successfully submitted his thesis. Two Ph. D scholars are working under her supervision. Her research areas at BITS Pilani Goa Campus include the development of Advanced materials for Electrochemical Systems, Bio-MEMS and Sensors. She is an active member of InDA, HAI, IIChe, IIM, IMS, ISAMPE, ISS, MRSI, SPSI, IWSA and Biochip Society.
