Dr. Rajesh Barik is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus. Prior to his current role, Dr. Barik served as an Assistant Professor at IBS Hyderabad, where he contributed significantly to both teaching and research.

Dr. Barik earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore, where his research laid the groundwork for his ongoing exploration of critical socio-economic issues. His research interests are diverse and interdisciplinary, focusing on financial inclusion, financial literacy, digital finance, and the broader dimensions of poverty and human development. He specifically studies gender development and gender discrimination, demonstrating a keen interest in comprehending and tackling the systemic barriers that contribute to digital exclusion.

In addition to these areas, Dr. Barik is committed to advancing knowledge on social policy and its impact on marginalized communities. His work aims to inform policy-making processes that can foster equitable and sustainable development.

Dr. Barik's research has been recognized in various academic forums, and he actively collaborates with scholars and institutions to further his investigations into these pressing issues. He is dedicated to teaching and mentoring the next generation of economists, offering courses that integrate his research insights with contemporary economic challenges.

Financial Inclusion/Literacy/Capability, Rural Banking, Digital Finance, Poverty, Human Development, Gender, Feminist Economics, Social Economics, and Social/Public Policy.

 Secondary Interest: Financial Stress, Labour Economics, Energy Economics, Climate Change, Gender Health, and Nutrition.
