Souvik Ghosh is an Assistant Professor at BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus, specializing in optics, photonics, and nanotechnology. He has extensive professional experience, including a role as a Senior Staff Optical Engineer at Luminar Technologies, where he worked on developing automotive LiDAR sensors. Before joining Luminar, he was a DASA Research Fellow at University College London (UCL) and the London Centre for Nanotechnology (LCN). In this role, he worked on advanced nanophotonic security features in collaboration with the Banknote Design team at the Bank of England. Earlier in his career, Souvik served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at City, University of London, on a NERC-DST funded project in collaboration with IISc Bangalore, India.

Souvik holds a PhD in Photonics from City, University of London, where he was awarded the Erasmus Mundus Doctoral Scholarship and the SPIE Optics and Photonics Education Scholarship. He also completed an M.Tech in Optics and Optoelectronics and a B.Tech in the same field from the University of Calcutta.

His research interests include the modeling and fabrication of integrated photonic waveguides, gratings, meta-optical elements, and fiber-optic gratings.
