Dr. Jha obtained his Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur under the supervision of Prof. P. K. Raina. Subsequently, he joined as a  Post Doctoral fellow at the Theoretical Physics Division, Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad. Thereafter, he joined the Department of Physics, BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa campus as an Assistant Professor.

Ph.D. Thesis Title: “Relativistic Nuclear Equation of State in an Effective Model". Broadly the thesis is based on various fundamental aspects of nuclear matter both at low and high densities and its application to studies of properties of neutron stars.
