Figure 1:Generic optomechanical system               

In Fig. 1 the cavity field, when reflected from the optomechanical mirror, transfers some of its momentum to the optomechanical mirror. This changes the length of cavity and consequently the optical response of the optomechanical cavity changes. γ and ζ are the decay rates of optomechanical mirror and optomechanical cavity, respectively.

In Fig. 2 interaction of input laser with the two-level atom generates coherence in the atom which in turn emits electromagnetic field. γ is the decay rate.
