International Symposium cum Workshop on Translational Therapies for Cancer and Infections (TTCI-2024)
Budding scientists of DPIL presented their research work in the International Symposium cum Workshop on Translational Therapies for Cancer and Infections (TTCI-2024) held at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus on 22 Jul 2024. The event was meticulously curated with talks on translational therapies with plenary talks by Dr. Adam Mechler and Dr. Jimmy Hsia. The platform offered by this symposium to demonstrate the scientific research work was leveraged by Mr. Sumeet Katke, Ms. Kanan Panchal and Ms. Sonali Singh. This was indeed a cherishing moment for the team wherein Ms. Kanan Panchal was felicitated with the 'Best Poster' award for her research work as presented. Kudos to the Team DPIL!
3rd Vidwanotsav 2024
"All work and no play makes a mind dull as hay!" And to rightly defy this the zealous Ph.D. scholars of BITS Pilani - Hyderabad Campus successfully organized the 3rd edition of Vidwanotsav from 8th - 13th July 2024 in the campus. The fest was all-inclusive ranging from technical to sports and cultural events wherein scholars of TPRL actively participated in these events. Who knew our scholar would bag a gold at Antakshari!? DPIL believes this to be a reflection of its PI, Dr. Akash Chauraiya, who won a bronze medal in cricket. No wonder the life of a Ph.D. scholar is multifaceted.
13th International Colloids Conference, Elsevier
It was a moment of pride when Dr. Akash Chaurasiya and Ms. Kanan Panchal presented their research work at the 13th International Colloids Conference organized by Elsevier at Sitges, Barcelona, Spain from 9th - 12th June 2024. Also, Ms. Kanan Panchal was awarded the travel grant (under the International Travel Scheme) by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), DST, GoI. This insightful conference helped understand the depths of nano-beings - how they form, function, and behave on their turf. The event was attended by experts from academia/industry from various domains of colloidal sciences. The presented work was discussed with experts/participants with great enthusiasm and excitement for possible collaborations. The Journal of Colloid and Interface Science (JCIS) is the publication partner for this conference. No wonder, these talks and networking give one a direction or validate the path to push forward the frontiers of science across domains!

On April 29, 2024, the DPIL team attended the National Symposium on Current Trends in Pharmaceutical Sciences (CTPS) 2024 at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus. PDA Annual Meeting
The PDA India Chapter is a key branch of the Parenteral Drug Association, dedicated to advancing pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical science, regulation, and technology. The chapter plays a pivotal role in fostering knowledge exchange among professionals in the industry. Recently, our translational pharmaceutics and research lab team attended the PDA India Chapter Annual Conference as volunteers. The event, held at Hotel Novotel Hyderabad, focused on "Maintaining Quality and Compliance" in pharmaceutical processes. The conference offered a platform to explore the latest trends and challenges in ensuring high standards in drug development and manufacturing. Our research scholars, Mr. Sumeet Katke, Ms. Kanan Panchal, Ms. Sonali Singh, and Mr. Siddhant Padhi, along with master’s students Yadu, Shivani, and Rashmi, participated actively in the sessions. This opportunity enriched their understanding of the critical aspects of quality control and regulatory compliance, equipping them with insights to enhance their research endeavours.

TechExpo for National Science Day, IIC
To acknowledge the innovations and keep up the scientific spirit Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) of BITS Pilani - Hyderabad Campus organized the TechExpo for the National Science Day 2024 held on 28th February 2024 at the campus. Students from different disciplines, right from First degree to Ph.D. participated in this event with their innovative and ground-breaking ideas! Amongst them, Ms. Kanan Panchal represented TPRL and emerged as the winner for her innovative work on 'Development and Preclinical Evaluation of a Novel and Affordable Anti-fungal Drug-based Pharmaceutical Product'. DPIL congratulates her for this achievement!
BIG Grant
The formulation of a spin-off start-up company, AtreVes Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. was a proud moment for DPIL. However, the cherry on the cake was Dr. Akash Chaurasiya and Ms. Kanan Panchal bagging the prestigious 23rd BIG support with a second rank from BIRAC/DBT, Govt. of India. This granted AtreVes Healthcare a sum total fund of Rs. 50 lakhs for their innovative project on 'Upscaling and preclinical evaluation for commercialization of a novel and affordable anti-fungal drug product'. Way to go ahead team AtreVes!
