Career Highlights
Research Lab and Themes
I enjoy working in interdisciplanary research projects at the intersection of "AI and Networked Systems" involving both technological innovation and social impact. I lead the SUST.AI.N research lab and key research themes are as follows:
1. Data science for climate and health - data acquisition and analysis for environmental monitoring (low cost sensing and remote sensing), smart buildings (energy management) and digital health (wearable sensing, healthcare digital twins, health data interoperability)
2. Distributed edge AI and data management in Internet of Things (IoT)
3. Knowledge discovery and sense-making from multimodal sensor data streams (time series, audio, text)
Academic Career
I held an academic position as Lecturer in Machine Learning at LSBU for two years before joining BITS Pilani, Hyderabad in July 2019. I am an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), UK.
Research Experience
I have worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at University College London (UCL), UK and London Southbank University (LSBU), UK on various EPSRC and Innovate UK funded projects.
Industry Experience
I have worked at CDoT and Motorola as Senior Telecommunications Research Engineer for seven years before moving to academia.
Outreach Efforts
I am passionate about promoting "Women in Computing" and currently, serving as a vice-chair of ACM-W, India till 2025.
