About

Prof. Nishith Gupta founded the Intracellular Parasite Education And Research Labs (iPEARL) and the "One-Health Initiative" - Veterinary And Medical Parasite Infection Research Ensemble (VAMPIRE). iPEARL is a state-of-the-art bioscience facility and international research, training and education group generously supported by the Wellcome Trust, Department of Biotechnology (India) and BITS-Pilani. Majorly focusing on clinically-relevant and globally-prevalent parasitic protists (Toxoplasma, Plasmodium, Eimeria), iPEARL's cutting-edge facilities and international team under the mentorship of Prof. Nishith Gupta drive high-quality research on intracellular pathogens and host cells. iPEARL is also proactively engaged in a multitude of academic activities including public outreach, education, training and promotion of early-career scholars, and internationalization of research in India.
