Electronic Materials and Devices Lab

    We are a dynamic group of researchers working towards the development of next generation technologies including Flexible electronic devices and sensors, 2D materials based electronics and optoelectronics and Neuromorphic devices. Our core research is to fabricate high quality devices from novel atomically thin materials (2D materials) for a wide variety of applications. Our group is supported by a suite of advanced tools and equipment that facilitate us to explore and innovate  these highly interdisciplinary and rapidly evolving domains.

    Research Area: Semiconductor Thin films and Devices.

    About :  Dr. Chandra Sekhar is a National Postdoctoral Fellow (NPDF), completed his PhD at CINVESTAV in Mexico. His expertise in 0D, 1D, and 2D semiconductor materials, with a focus on applications in optoelectronics, transient electronics, and sensors. Dr. CS specializes in developing P-type and N-type semiconductor layers through both chemical and physical techniques, aiming to fabricate advanced electronic devices.

    Gowtham Polumati                                         

     

    Research Area: Vertically Stacked 2D Materials based Optoelectronic Devices 

    Gowtham Polumati has completed his Masters degree( M.tech) from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University,Hyderabad India 2019. Then After, he was senior consultant in Radiation Detection and Instrumentation in ECIL hyderabad , where he gained extensive experience in PCB testing and designing. He joined the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) as a research scholar (PhD) at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus in 2021. His current research is focused on vertically stacked CVD grown 2D material based photodetectors

     

     

     

     

     

    Sohel Siraj

    Research Area: VOC Sensing for Healthcare Applications   

    Sohel has completed his M.tech (Instrumentation) from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore, MP. Then he joined as a project assistant at S N Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata. He has joined for PhD at BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus in the department of EEE in july 2022. His area of research interest on Multiplexed Functional Nanomaterial based Volatile Organic Compound sensor array for Healthcare Application.

     

     

     

    Bishal Kumar Keshari

     

    Research Area: Memristors for Neurmorphic Computing

    Mr. Bishal Kumar Keshari earned his master's degree (MSc) in Electronic Science from the University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India, in 2018. In 2023, he joined the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) as a research scholar (PhD) at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus. Prior to his current position, he gained extensive experience in semiconductor materials and device fabrication through roles at CSIR-CGCRI, Kolkata, and the Technical Research Centre (TRC) at S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata. His research is focused on Memristors for Neuromorphic and In-memory Computing Applications

     

     

    Isha Basumatary

     

    Research Area: Microneedle Integrated Sensors for ISF based disease diagnostics

    Isha Basumatary has completed her M.Tech in Nanotechnology from North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) Shillong, Meghalaya. She joined as a Junior Research Fellow, project sponsored by ICMR in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering(EEE), BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus. Later in August 2023, She joined as a  PhD Scholar under the supervision of Dr. Parikshit Sahatiya in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering(EEE), BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus. Her research interests are in the Development of Microneedle Patch (minimally-invasive ) based Electrochemical Biosensors and Animal Model study

     

    Nongthombam Joychandra Singh

     

    Research Area : Decoupling Mechanism for Multimodal Sensor System

    Mr. Joychandra has completed his M.Tech in Nanotechnology from North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong, Meghalaya. He worked as a project fellow in CSIR-CEERI, Pilani, Rajasthan. Later, he joined the BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus as a Junior Research Fellow in the EEE department. In January 2024, He joined as a PhD Scholar under the supervision of Dr. Parikshit Sahatiya in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering(EEE), BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus.  His research interest is in 2D materials and the development of multimodal sensors.

     

    Shubham Yadav

     

    Research Area : New generation 2D materials for optoelectronic Devices

    Shubham Yadav has pursued an integrated B.Sc.-M.Sc. in Nanoscience and Technology in 2020 from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, India. He has worked as Project Trainee at CSIR-NCL, Pune and then Project Assistant in SMART Lab, at IISER Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, till 2022. Currently he is doing PhD in a CREST sponsored project on experimental and theoretical investigation of 2D materials based optoelectronic devices. His area of research is next generation 2D materials, heterostructures, and fabrication of optoelectronic devices.

     

    Nandini Trivedi

     

     Research Area : Large Area Flexible Electronics

    Nandini completed her Master's degree in Physical Sciences in 2022 from CHARUSAT University in Anand, India. During her studies, she specialized in electrochemical water splitting. Afterward, she served as a Project Assistant at the Advanced Energy Materials and Device Lab, at CHARUSAT University. In 2024, she joined as PhD scholar in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus. Currently, she is working on development of functional nanoinks for large-area flexible printed electronics.

     

    Mou Sarkar

     

    Research Area : Self Powered Sensors

    Mou Sarkar has completed her masters degree (MSc.) in Electronic science from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India in 2022. In 2024, she joined as a PhD scholar in the Electrical and Electronics engineering department (EEE), BITS Pilani, Hyderabad campus. Her research is focussed on Self Powered Sensors for energy harvesting applications

     

     

    Megha Y Bhat

     

    Research Area : Neuromorphic Tactile Sensing 

    She completed her MSc in Physics from Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal in 2022. She worked as a research intern at Vimano EWA Pvt.Ltd, Bengaluru and Summer Research Fellow at IISc Bengaluru. She joined the Electronic Materials and Devices lab as a research scholar at BITS Pilani-Hyderabad Campus in Jan 2024 under BITS-RMIT PhD Program. Currently, she is working on ‘Memristor based Tactile Sensors’.
