  • Shake Table Setup: Uniaxial earthquake simulation table with size of 2m×3m and payload of 12 ton, Sesimic accelerometers,
  • Base Isolator Test Setup: To test isolatotors under simultanious vertical and horizontal loads, Laser displacement sonsors.
  • Pushover Test Setup: Strong supporting frame to test structures under latteral loads.

  • Frequency response function (FRF) based structural damage assessment using particle swarm optimization (PSO): numerical and experimental studies - Damages in framed structures are assessed using combined frequency & FRF emplying unified PSO. The extensive study of the proposed method shows an improvement in the accuracy of damage prediction and encourages its application for structural damage assessment purpose. Related journal papers are published.
  • Structural optimization of rotating disk using genetic algorithm: A constraint non-linear optimization procedure based on genetic algorithms has been used for designing rotating disk. Related journal paper is published.
  • Response surface equations for natural frequencies of damaged cantilever beam: Developed a simplified response equation representing first six natural frequencies in terms of damage locations and damage depths for a particular cantilever beam.

Research Assistant, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India                                             July 2006 – June 2008

  • Gas turbine axial flow compressor rotating disk was optimized for its weight, within design requirements. Further the geometry based sensitivity analysis and probabilistic fatigue life of the disk was estimated.
  • Optimization of cantilever plate with varying thickness using NASTRAN (FEM Method). Optimize the weight under static and dynamic loads by keeping design variable as thickness, and constraints as stress, displacement and first natural frequency.
