Navigating the Corporate World: Shashank Agarwal’s Journey from BITS Pilani to Sprinklr

Shashank Agarwal, BITS Pilani (Pilani, ‘24) graduate, leveraged BITS’ competitive environment to excel in venture capital. Starting with his PS-II at Sprinklr, he mastered managing timelines and developed key skills through challenging coursework and competitive coding. He credits BITS for teaching him to explore, socialize, and build meaningful friendships. While he regrets not delving deeper into research, Shashank cherishes his journey and advises juniors to choose supportive peer groups.

What is your current role at Sprinklr, and what responsibilities do you handle daily?

Over the past year, I have worked at Sprinklr, starting with a 6-month internship and transitioning to a full-time job. I am part of the social insights team at Sprinklr. My responsibilities include handling large companies and analyzing insights from social media data. My main focus is infrastructure maintenance, and I am also responsible for creating automated reports for companies. My work typically starts at around 11 am until 8 pm.

What skills did you find most valuable from your education at BITS that you found most helpful at Sprinklr?

The best skill anyone learns at BITS is to fight out timelines. The projects provided during the third year, under every course, prepare you to exhibit any skill required for the job assigned. Another skill I learned is to divide tasks and manage time during hectic work environments. The competitive environment and practical schools played an important role in shaping me for the corporate world.

Did any club or department that you were part of help in your current role?

I was part of the Computer Science Association for one semester only, which helped me develop my skills and get internships; majorly, I was a part of CSA. Other than that, clubs do provide a good peer group. I remember making some of my best friends in my club.
