BITS-RMIT Higher Education Academy Students Discover RMIT and Melbourne

 

BITSPilani Students Experienced the First-Ever Immersion Program as a Part of the BITS-RMIT Academy at RMIT University Melbourne! 

About 90 of our engineering students from BITSPilani participated in a two-week immersion program at RMIT University and the vibrant city of Melbourne.

These students are the pioneering cohort of the BITS-RMIT Higher Education Academy, the first dual-degree initiative between India and Australia. This groundbreaking partnership will deliver exceptional transnational education and foster vital regional collaboration. Professor Sudhirkumar V Barai Barai, Director of BITS Pilani, Pilani campus, emphasized, "International exposure is crucial in transforming students into global citizens. This program embodies that vision."

Professor Ian Burnett, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of RMIT STEM College, highlighted, "BITS and RMIT are leading providers of STEM programs. This collaboration leverages our combined strengths to offer world-class education and training. These students will gain a unique global perspective and essential skills for priority industries in both countries."

Professor Srinivasan Madapusi, Director of BITS Pilani, Dubai campus, remarked, "This immersion visit prepares our students for life in Melbourne, acting as brand ambassadors for the Academy."

During their visit, our students explored key Melbourne landmarks, including the MCG, Rod Laver Arena, and Albert Park Circuit. They also experienced RMIT's diverse engineering facilities and engaged with passionate lecturers and students.
