Prof. Bhattacharya spoke about the importance of FDP for the exposure of faculty members in promoting sustainability in civil engineering profession. He also emphasized on BITS Pilani being a pioneer in promoting and working towards a multidisciplinary approach in engineering and sciences much before the concept introduced by the current natural education policy of India. The departmental activities and the research facilities available with the civil engineering department at BITS Pilani was elaborated by Prof. Singhal. Prof Bhunia emphasized on the sustainability being at the heart of a responsible civil engineer. 

 

The workshop has attracted the attention and participation of many engineers and professors, industry professionals from the length and breadth of the country. Finally, Dr. Chakraborty gave vote of thanks to all the participants, speakers, coordinators especially Mr. Jaya Kumar Bhaskar, Mr. Akash and Ms. Ankita Pareek for their immense cooperation in making the event a success.
