In a remarkable display of academic prowess, on 26th November 2023, second-year biotechnology students of BITS Pilani-Dubai Campus, attended the 4th IIACM 2023 MedCon's International Indo-Arab Conference and presented a diverse array of posters. The event was graced by eminent doctors, healthcare professionals and Director BITS Pilani Dubai Campus, showcased the students' commitment to advancing knowledge in the field of biotechnology with relation to medicine and healthcare.

Under the guidance of Prof. Neeru Sood, the students delved into various aspects of biotechnology and medicine. The collaborative effort resulted in an engaging presentation of posters, reflecting the dedication and passion of the budding researchers. The posters were evaluated by a panel consisting of doctors, scientists and professionals from pharma Industries.
The following students secured top honors:

- 1st Prize: Akshat Tewari and Vidhu Das: “Modulating Tumor Microenvironment Viscosity: A Novel Approach to Inhibit Cancer Metastasis”

- 2nd Prize: Anoushka Martin, Sree Gouri Menon, Crystal Nazareth, Shristi Sudeep: “Therapeutic Immunotherapy for Cervical and Ovarian Cancer”

- 3rd Prize: Risla Muhammad Ali, Gatha Nilesh Virani, Adithi Sujith, Karthika Murali, Hrishitha Vabilisetty: “Stargardt Disease Research: From Genetics to Innovative Treatments”

The award ceremony celebrated the winners and the collective achievement of the entire biotechnology cohort. Dr. Neeru Sood's guidance was pivotal in shaping the students' research endeavours, and fostering a culture of excellence within the department.
