The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, BITS Pilani Dubai Campus, has conducted an IEEE International Conference on Modelling, Simulation, and Intelligent Computing (MoSICom-2023) from December 7 to 9, 2023.  Over 220 full research papers have been submitted to the conference from more than 10 countries.  A total of 168 papers have been accepted for the oral presentation at the conference.  Out of the 168 acceptances sent, 126 papers have been registered for the presentation. The conference was attended by 126 delegates from more than 10 counties.  The inauguration ceremony was conducted on December 7, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the institute auditorium.   Mr. Joe Hoare, Vice President, Emerson, Dubai, UAE, graced the ceremony as chief guest, and in his speech as chief guest, he emphasized the role of simulation and modelling in modern control and instrumentation system.  Prof. Srinivasan Madapusi , Director, BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus, and Prof. Vinod Kadkhikar , Professor , Khalifa University , Abu Dhabi, UAE, were the guests of honor in the inaugural ceremony.  Prof. Srinivasan Madapusi addressed the gathering with the importance of simulation and modelling in the field of science and technology.  Prof. V.Kalaichelvi , Professor and HOD, EEE Department, was highly supportive of this conference.  The inaugural ceremony was managed by Prof. Jagadish Nayak, Professor, EEE Department; Prof. Vilas H. Gaidhane, Associate Professor, EEE Department; and Prof. Nilesh Goel,  Associate Professor, EEE Department. 

The inaugural ceremony was followed by a keynote speech by Professor Vinod Khadkhikar, Professor, Khalifa University, Abhudhabi, UAE, on the topic of electric vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) power Transfer.  Later in the afternoon, parallel paper presentations were conducted.  On December 8, 2023, there were two keynote speeches: one by Mr. Kerim Obarcanin, Technical Director of DV Power Sweden, on the topic “The High Voltage Circuit Breaker Condition Assessment: A Potential Lifesaver for Maintenance Engineers," and another by Professor Ramesh Bansal, University of Sharjah, UAE, on the topic “Renewable Energy Integration in a Smart Grid Environment”.  On the last day of the conference, December 9, 2023 , there was a keynote speech by Professor Vinaytosh Mishra, Director, Thumbay Institute for AI in Healthcare, Associate Professor, College of Healthcare Management and Economics, Gulf Medical University, Ajman, UAE. The keynote is followed by the parallel paper presentation sessions, valedictory function, and desert safari.
