Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacy,
BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus
Dr Anil B. Jindal is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, Pilani Campus. He obtained his PhD in Pharmaceutics from the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai, in 2012, M. Pharmacy from Bombay College of Pharmacy, Mumbai University, and B. Pharmacy from the University of Rajasthan. His academic career began as a Research Scientist at IPCA Laboratories Ltd., Mumbai, before joining BITS Pilani as an Assistant Professor in 2014 and later being promoted to Associate Professor in 2021. He has been actively engaged in the field of drug delivery and nanomedicine for the past 13 years, with extensive expertise in the design and evaluation of nanocarriers. His research experience spans across nanocarrier formulation, characterization, cell culture studies, and in vivo evaluation in small laboratory animals. He has successfully completed/ongoing multiple research projects, including those funded by BITS, SERB, DST and DBT. His translational research efforts have led to the commercialization of a nanoemulsion-based nutraceutical product now available in the US market. Prof. Jindal has received several prestigious awards, including the SERB Early Career Research Award, the Eudragit Award, and recognition among the top 2% scientists worldwide by Stanford University. With over 45 research papers, 15 book chapters, 4 patents, and 2 edited books, his work has been published in high-impact journals. He also served as a invited Managing Theme Editor for Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews and an Editorial Board Member for Scientific Reports. He is also actively involved in professional services, including grant reviews for DBT and SERB, peer-reviewing for leading journals, and contributing as a subject expert for PhD admissions question paper for NIPER JEE 2024.
Nanomedicine and Drug Delivery Research Laboratory (NDDRL) is dedicated to advancing pharmaceutical sciences through innovative research in long-acting injectable (LAI) formulations. The primary objective is to design and develop novel drug delivery systems that enhance therapeutic efficacy, improve patient compliance, and ensure controlled and sustained drug release. The laboratory focuses on optimizing nano formulations to improve drug stability and bioavailability while formulating strategies that enhance therapeutic outcomes and reduce dosing frequency. Additionally, NDDRL aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry through translational research, ensuring the scalability and regulatory feasibility of its developments. With a commitment to innovation, the laboratory seeks to translate cutting-edge research into commercially viable pharmaceutical products, fostering collaborations with industry partners and contributing to the advancement of next-generation drug delivery systems.
