Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy
Dr. Jagpreet Sidhu completed his PhD in Chemistry from IIT Ropar (2016 to 2020). During his doctoral program, he specialized in the development of activatable fluorogenic probes tailored for disease diagnostic applications. Following his PhD, he pursued postdoctoral positions at IISc Bangalore and Tel Aviv University, Israel.
Notably, Dr. Sidhu was honored with India's esteemed "CV Raman" postdoctoral research fellowship from IISc Bangalore, as well as the National Postdoctoral Fellowship award by DST, Government of India. Furthermore, he was granted the Pikovsky-Valazzi matching postdoctoral fellowship from Tel Aviv University. He also awarded with various travel awards from different funding agencies like DST, CSIR and others.
Throughout his career, Dr. Sidhu has demonstrated his expertise through publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at international conferences. His research primarily focuses on developing fluorogenic probes for assay of enzymes and biomolecules, as well as imaging diseased cells. Additionally, he has a keen interest in synthesizing organic fluorophores and nanohybrids.
