PhD Admission II SEM 2020-21

For admissions to Humanities and Social Sciences, candidates with an M.A. degree and a minimum of 55% aggregate may apply. In addition, the department may set specific admission criteria for short-listing. Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for an admission test, which may comprise of an online interview.

Note: Please note that merely fulfilling the minimum eligibility condition does not automatically qualify a candidate for being shortlisted for the admission test.


Area(s) of PhD admission in II Semester 2020-21:

Psychology, Philosophy, Sociology, History, Public policy & development studies, Musical Forms and Styles, Film Studies, English Language Teaching, Communication and Soft Skills, English Literature and Cultural Studies, Media Studies and Advertising, Education, Language studies, Technology Interventions in Education, Psychology and Governance.

Department plans to admit student under

a. Full Time students: Student who will devote full-time on PhD work. Project Fellows in sponsored projects will be converted into PhD students as per institute guidelines.

b. Part-time Students: Preferably individuals working in organizations providing basic facilities and environment for research will be admitted under this scheme. Students will have to complete required course work similar to full-time students as specified by DRC. They will not be entitled for any assistantship from the Institute.

Shortlisting criteria for Full Time and Part Time Ph.D. Applications

(II semester 2020-21)

 

ü Must have MA or equivalent degree

ü Minimum 55% in Qualifying Degree (MA and equivalent)

ü Must have given Pilani campus as one of the preferences

ü Availability of expertise in the department in the proposed broad area of research
