Research Interest

  • Cancer Biology: I am working on anticancer properties of camel milk proteins and their potential role as a drug delivery molecule. I have filed a patent on purification procedure of isolating lactoferrin from camel milk whey. Also a casein nanoparticle has been developed for better delivery of drugs, specially, Sorafenib, a drug used against hepatocellular carcinoma. Furthermore, I am also studying cell migration, reactive oxygen species induction, DNA fragmentation, the cell cycle, gene expression, and associated cytotoxic mechanisms upon treatment of transformed cells with camel milk lactoferrin or Sorafenib encapsulated in camel milk casein nanoparticles. I am also interested in comparative bioinformatics studies of camel milk proteins across various mammalian species.
  • Mathematical Modelling of Immune system: system: I have been involved in studying the interaction of various components of the immune system with each other, with cancer cells and with infectious agents in the presence and absence of environmental toxicants. The analysis requires theoretic, mathematically and computational input.
  • Cellular Immune Responses: : I have been interested in comparative studying on Lymphocyte proliferation, Natural Killer cell function and Antibody dependent cellular cytotoxicity at normal and febrile temperatures. Also the cell cycle proliferation kinetics of lymphocytes and cell lines is of interest
