CS F426: Graph Mining (Fall 2023,BITS Pilani)

Undergraduate/Post-Graduate Course, BITS Pilani, CSIS, 2023

Taught in previous semester

  • IS ZC313 Object Oriented Programming and Design
  • CSF469 Information Retrieval
  • CSF363 Compiler Construction
In upcoming semester:
  • CSF426 Graph Mining New
This course will be introduced first time in the fall 2021 semester.

Graph Mining has gained tremendous popularity in last few years. Graphs are everywhere: be it social networks, molecules, citation networks and many more. Data of any shape where different points hold some kinds of relationships can form graphs. This course motivates to study the underlying graph structures and its features by allowing students to apply a class of machine learning techniques and data mining tools to reveal insights on a variety of real graphs. Fun Part: Every two lectures followed by a small programming exercise with missing lines of code type quiz. Those who attempt filling gaps, get bonus marks (+ in final marks).

Course Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of probabilty theory, data mining and machine learning.
