About the Faculty

Prof Trilok Mathur of BITS Pilani is a distinguished academic celebrated for his work in fractional calculus, complex analysis, mathematical modelling, data envelopment analysis, multicriteria decision making techniques, image processing and neural networks. Prof. Mathur's work in integrating fractional calculus with neural network models, solution of fractional differential equations in complex domain, mathematical modelling of crime dynamics and various applications of DEA has garnered international acclaim.

Prof Mathur has an exemplary educational background. He completed his Ph.D. in September 2005 under the supervision of Prof S.P. Goyal, Emeritus Professor at the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. His dissertation, titled “A Study of Certain Properties of Generalized Special Functions and a General Class of Polynomials with Applications,” showcased his deep expertise in advanced mathematical theories. In June 2002, he qualified for the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) from CSIR-UGC, ranking in the top 20%. He earned his M.Phil. in Mathematics from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, in 2001, with an impressive score of 80.5%. He also completed his M.Sc. in Mathematics from the same institution in July 2000, achieving 69.8%. Prof Mathur’s foundational education includes a B.Sc. in Science with a focus on Mathematics from Maharaja’s College, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, where he graduated with 73.3% in August 1998. His earlier education was at S.S. Jain Subodh Sr. Sec. School in Jaipur, where he scored 74.46% in Science-Mathematics for his Sr. Secondary in July 1994 and 76.9% for his Secondary education in July 1992.

Prof Mathur has made significant teaching contributions throughout his career for more than 20 years. He is currently an Associate Professor at BITS, Pilani, a position he has held since June 1, 2021. Prior to this, he served as an Assistant Professor at BITS Pilani since July, 2008. Before joining BITS Pilani, he worked as an Assistant Professor at Banasthali University, Newai (2005-2008), and as a Lecturer at Seedling Academy of Design, Technology and Management, Jaipur (2004-2005).
